By the very nature of our classic campervan glitter bar and outdoor photobooth services, we tend to work at a lot of outdoor wedding venues like in our Fiesta Fields blog post last month. We are often parked up by fabulous tipis – be that weddings, festivals or corporate hospitality events.
We wanted to tell you all about our friends at Canvas and Light, because they have a gorgeous company that stands out because of their off-white or cream canvas – a fresh alternative to the traditional, tan canvas tipi style.

Wow factor
Canvas and Light’s off-white or cream canvas is quite different to a tan canvas tipi. They love the fresh and natural light this gives inside, and so will photographers.
The modular nature of a tipi gives lots of flexibility when creating a space suitable for various guests numbers. The solid wooden poles, cream canvas and neutral flooring provide a stunning blank canvas.
About Canvas and Light
This tipi hire company are a husband and wife team. They celebrated their own wedding in a field in 2015 and that set them on a course into the world of outdoor weddings and events.

Their Tipis
There are two sizes of tipi to hire, the Stratus (or giant hat) and the Cirrus (or Kungsornen). They are super versatile and can be used as single standalone tipis or joined together in various configurations. For example, 2 Stratus tipis, when joined together, will comfortably seat 90 people and 3 Stratus tipis can accommodate up to 160 guests, including space for a dance floor. The Cirrus makes a great little addition and can provide space for additional seating or to create a cosy chill out area with soft seating and a bar.
Another great thing about the Stratus is that each side can be lifted, so for a summer wedding or event, they are perfect for letting the outside in and allowing a bit of breeze to flow through. On a colder day you can have more sides down, add in a fireplace and/or heaters and you have a really toasty space to celebrate in.
Thanks to the height of the structures and the smoke flaps at the top, tipis can safely accommodate an open fireplace, providing a special atmosphere within the tent and often proving to be the focal point of any event. Marshmallows and skewers at the ready.
Stunning props and extras to add to when you hire a Tipi for a wedding festival
Canvas and Light have lots of other useful items for hire to help complete the look.
For example, a small Nimbus mini tipi (see picture below), also in off-white. This is a great little tipi to offer cover for an outside bar. Or add their Moroccan pouffes and fairy lights for a sweet little outdoor chill out area.
